For those of you who follow events in SE Asia, it looks like all hell is going to break loose in Burma (aka Myanmar) very soon. The deadline the military regime there gave the various ethnic forces (Karen, Shan, Chin, Kachin, and others) thoughout the country to join the Burmese army or be declared "illegal" has past. Reports from inside Burma indicate government forces are massing artillery and other equipment/forces along the ethnic zones in preparation for an all out offensive. There are a lot of peaceful people in those areas and the government forces make absolutely no distinction between them and armed combatants, with killings of women and children, and other atrocities, commonplace.
