Rifle Scopes Burris 1.5-6x40 Xtreme Tactical XTR 30mm Scope

I'm thinking of buying this scope for my PWS MK214. I figure the scope and PEPR mount will weigh around 23 oz. which is a prime consideration for me. Anyone have any experience with this?

I owned both the 1.5-6 and the 1-4x Burris scopes and sold both of them. The glass is actually pretty good. But the illumination sucks ass major on both of them. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. Also the reticle is pretty useless for most of the time, unless you have ballistics that match that velocity perfect it just quite does not work. Also the 1.5x has enough magnification that i could not use it as a "red dot" per say. So in a sense not only the 1.5x was not usable, i was limiting myself on the top end of the magnification. I think for the MK214 something like a 2.5-10x scope is money.

Like most reticles with a black dot(s) the 1.5-6 is difficult to use on dark targets at mid range distances. Especially true on steel gongs that have been painted black.
