Burris Fullfield 4.5-14.42 vs the Super Sniper 10-42. Which one would most prefer. The scope will go on a 308 that is mostly used for deer hunting but i will take a long shot if i have to. I can get the Burris new for 257 where the Super Sniper is 319.

Can some guys give me some feedback. And does anyone know if there was any recent problems with Wotac 4-14-50? Thats my other option. I have 1 inch mounts as of now also

Re: Burris Fullfield vs Super Sniper

For hunting, I would go with a 3-9 power Burris. You might find 4.5 to be too much on the low end, how bad do you think 10x is going to be?

Re: Burris Fullfield vs Super Sniper

I have the Burris on a 30-06 and it is excellent. Does a great job. I can dial the power up or down as needed for short or long shots. The 4.5 power setting isn't alot more than the 3 on another kind of scope like the SS. I can't really comment on the SS as I have never owned one. But I have heard good reports on them though.

Re: Burris Fullfield vs Super Sniper

I have both and I like the Burris slightly better for two reasons, its slightly brighter than the SS and the eye relief is shorter. with the SS I have, it has more eye relief than I like, but it is still a very clear and bright scope, just harder for me to get used to.

Re: Burris Fullfield vs Super Sniper

The Fullfield is of course more useful being a variable, and Burris glass is notable as being very good. However it's no way in the same league as the SS as far as durability, adjustment range, optic clarity. For hunting I'd say the Fullfield is the better choics however.
