Got my Burris MTAC today,
Over all impression
Solid 30mm tube built fairly tough, independent power ring unlike other burris scopes
Turrets are adjustable, but the clicks are not very strong like a MK4, can be spun easy if you are using the scope with out turret covers
Parallax is up front

Glass is very good, mil reticle seems to be useful, and matches turrets witch allows for dial or hold over in mils.
only issue is looking at it, it starts at .5 mil not 1 mil from center not sure why they did this

Re: Burris MTAC

Thanks for sharing the pictures and initial impression. I'll be interested to hear if it holds zero and if the turrets adjust properly and are repeatable.

Re: Burris MTAC

Needs a side focus rather than at the objective. All the cool kids are building their scopes that way nowadays. At least they are dipping into the Mil/Mil world.

fmsniper- I've been looking at the MTAC 3.5X-10X-42mm and the Leupold VX-3 3.5-10x40 mm... Trying to stay below $600 and wanted to see if you have an opinion on the two (assuming you have used/owned a VX-3).

Re: Burris MTAC

Got my MTAC and rings in and got them mounted yesterday. Nice glass and smooth turrets. Not yet sure how it performs but hope to get to the range next weekend.

Setup:
Savage 10 FCP LE w/McMillian A5 stock
EGW base w/Burris XTG rings (Low)
Burris MTAC 3.5x-10x 42mm
Harris Bipod

Haven't fire it yet. Plan to zero it tomorrow.
