Anyone running a Burris MTAC or TAC30 on a 308? I noticed where the new MTAC's are including ballistic info on 308 ammo in relation to it's reticle. Also curious to how it's holding up to the recoil. Thanks!
Based on this chart, it looks like the BDC is nearly perfect for the 150 grain .308s, like surplus M80.
While the BDC is nice, the reticle doesn't have much that is helpful with ranging... the BDC dots are smaller than about any practical objects (head, torso, etc.) at each range. It does appear that the 3 crosshair lines and the break in between them are about 6 MOA, which would be about the width of a dude shoulder-to-shoulder at 330m. I would prefer an ACOG-type reticle for this type of optic, but it looks pretty decent nonetheless.
I am also considering one of these for my M1A, so I would also be curious as to how they stand up to .308 recoil.
Follow up:
I've had it on my 308 for nearly 5 months. Haven't run a lot of rounds through it but it zeroed well and the drops on the reticle correspond with the ammo I have tried.
