So my friend has a 6.5 JP rifle. He's looking for a quality scope. Will be used mainly for hogs and steel out to 1K. Hard budget of $1700 with mount.
I know theres several good options but i am considering recommending to him the Cameraland deal on the 3.5-18 XTR III.
The XTR III seems to get high praise at its price point.
There are some with mounts included. Any have any experience with the Burris or Athlon mounts or would you go in a different direction with the mount.
Anything wrong with this recommendation? Seems like this would give him a solid setup under budget.
