bushing dies help

i got my first set of bushing dies redding type s match competition two die set. using .335 nitrade bushing. I'm sizing new .308 lapua brass and using 155 scenars. using case lube and one shot in the die. but it is really rough and tight still it's resizing fine no case marks or damage. but just a bit of work. and the seating die is seating perfectly but leaving scratches on the bullets. im not one of these guys with a brass fetish i dont have to eat off it but something's not right and im just new to these thanks for all your help

With Lapua brass I'm using a .336" Redding bushing and getting .002" neck grip. NOT tough at all to size necks. I am using a bit of lube too.

Maybe try a .001" LARGER bushing?

I was having the same problem with the same set up. First, switched from "One Shot" to a Lanolin based lube. I'm using Cabelas brand in a pump sprayer. I also switched from a .335 bushing to a .336. Those 2 changes and the difference is like night and day. Smooth full length resizing and seating

I agree that your bushing may be .001 too tight. I would also suggest trying Imperial sizing die wax. In a compound linkage press, you should feel very little resistance when neck sizing. Lightman

FWIW, Im using a 334 bushing for my lapua brass, 336 does not hold the bullet at all, back to your question, try cleaning your seating die before you try seating, and of course your brass, too. Thats the seating die that runs on the outside of the case, almost like a sizing die, right? Ive got a 6xc seater from Tubb and I really need to lube the case when I seat bullets.
