I was wondering if anyone has used a redding bushing die for 223 lake city brass? I have one of these dies and will be putting together my sdmr this weekend and wanted to get a reccomendation on what bushing size may be needed?

Thanks,

Alan

Re: bushing size for 223 brass

I've found that it varies between .249 to .252. Seat a bullet in the case that you are going to use and mic it. subtract .001 to .002 and you have your answer.

Re: bushing size for 223 brass

I also buy a bushing smaller and a bushing larger than what I mic my rounds at.

This gives you room to play around with other bullets, configurations, alchemy, etc.

Re: bushing size for 223 brass

I'm coming up with 244 for bushing size..I have that one so I'll try it first and see what neck tension I end up with.

Re: bushing size for 223 brass

I have.244 .245 .246

Mostly I use .246. If need more neck tension, I use .245. Haven't come cross a brass that's so thin to use .244.
