I saw Cabela's is running a coupon special on the Bushmaster O.R.C. for $729.00 with $100 off.

Any input would be grateful.

Is it worth it? What optics have you used/would you recommend? Same as ammo. Thanks.

Re: Bushmaster O.R.C.

I think somewhere you should have a friend that could probably help you out breaking it in when you get it, lol.... You should deff ACOG that thing up but get a good set of flip up irons, cant go wrong there.

Re: Bushmaster O.R.C.

My brother bought one brand new and had issues sighting in his (new) aimpoint on it...definately had issues. Maybe just a fluke because its a std. production gun and he doesn't shoot a whole lot.

Not a bad gun for the money imo.

Re: Bushmaster O.R.C.

Is that $729 before or after applying the coupon. If it is before applying the coupon, then an ORC for $629 would be a good deal. If it's after the coupon, then getting an ORC for $729 isn't such a great deal. All the ORC means is that you aren't getting any sights with the rifle and don't have any means of attaching them because you're getting a left over, chopped down gas block that you can't attach a front sight to.

For reference, you can get a Spike's mid length for $859, but you get a front sight tower, mid length gas system, a Spike's ST-T2 buffer, mil spec buffer tube and mil spec bolt/carrier group. If $120 or so means that much to you, then the Bushy may get you shooting sooner, but it isn't as good a deal as it may seem to be.
