bushmaster predator?

Re: bushmaster predator?

i like mine. the 1/8 twist likes the 70 to 77 gr bullets. but still shoot the 55gr good. i can shoot 5rd groups and cover it with a quarter. not the best but i got mine on sale and iam very happy with it

Re: bushmaster predator?

Mine shoots quite well. Here's 30 shots (10 rounds at a time from 20 round mags) of Wal-Mart bulk Federal at 100 yards. Can't quite cover them with a quarter, but they're all within the diameter of a quarter.

I'd suspect you could do better with match ammo.

This one started out as a Bushmaster DCM. I ended up building a Predator out of it, with a few upgrades along the way.

A word of warning - mine doesn't like 5.56 ammo. The "hybrid" chamber is a little too tight, and the overpressure results in smeared headstamps and blown primers. Stick with .223 if you get one of these.

In all fairness, Bushmaster did offer to rechamber it to 5.56 free of charge.

Thanks for the replies guys. That is really good lookin set up and the target aint to shabby either. I was also looking at the stag heavy barreled varminter, I believe it is chambered for the 5.56. But she tops out 10 lb. so it would basically be relagated to a paper puncher or dedicated roll up and shoot a dog town. If I can get that kind of accuracy out of a predator it would be more useful as a roaming coyote hunter.
