looking at an XM15 5.56,1/7. supposedly about 20 yo and little fired. haven't seen it in the flesh. re bushmaster: they were bought out awhile back and supposedly quality tanked. believable like all things after "buy out". does anyone have any direct experience with these? it has magpul MOE furniture-wondering if the HG is FF (could call magpul if nobody knows). trigger is AGT act". don't know that one. any input from experience or knowledge? thanks.

If it's made in Windham, ME it's a good one. From what you say I doubt the barrel is freefloating; don't know of anything by Magpul that is. AGT trigger is probably a cleaned up mil-spec unit. These pre-Freedom group Bushmasters are solid but in today's market not worth more than $500 IMHO. Also keep in mind they come with a commercial-spec buffer tube, stock, and front sight base along with carry handle. Front sight base is "non F-marked" and carry handle is sized accordingly.

Bushmaster DID go downhill. They used to be great. I have an old one that's a tack driver. I bought 2 at the same time and sent one in because it wasn't right. They sent it back claiming it was good. I was prone at 30ft and it was all over the place. 4 of 12 shots key holed. Called BM and they told me it would be 6-9 months before i could get parts. HORR customer service. You either get a good one or a boat anchor. Go with windham wraponry who is the original BM.
