I am currently shooting a bushmaster Varminter with a 1/9 twist and 24" barrel. I have been able to shoot out to 500 yds fairly consistently with good precision, however I have noticed that at 600 yds, the wind starts to really push the bullet and my consistency drops.
I am shooting both hornady's 68gr BTSP and Sierra' 69gr MK.
Have I reached the limit of these bullets? I have not chronographed these bullets, but the 68 and 69 were giving me ~.4MOA at the range.
I am curious, has anyone been able to stabilize a larger bullet with the Bushmaster Varminter? I don't mind single feeding the rounds.
Thoughts?
