Just took delivery of a 3.5-21x50 DMR w/ G2 reticle. The windage adjustment pulls out to a positive stop where it can be clicked and then pushed back in to lock. The elevation, however, can pull freely right off. When I looked under the cap, there is no screw to hold it on. The top of the turret has a screw head/cap but there is no threaded section protruding underneath even though there is a threaded hole in the brass part under it. I'm thinking this is not correct but thought I would ask here first before contacting the dealer that I bought from. I didn't want to try to remove the windage turret to see what's under it and risk marring anything in the event that I have to send it back. Any info??

The slotted screw shown in the first pic should be holding the turret on. If you were able to remove the turret without loosening said screw then something is amiss.

The slotted screw is basically a 'dummy.' With nothing coming out of the bottom of it. I didn't touch or loosen the screw head and the whole turret cap can pull completely off. Figured something wasn't right. Already contacted the vendor to see how to handle it. Thanks

Go ahead and remove the windage turret using a quarter or a big screwdriver. Once you have done so, it will be readily apparent that at a minimum, you are missing a slotted brass screw from the inside of the elevation turret. Provided it is just missing and not there but stripped, it should be a very easy repair.

This is what you should be seeing, or at least what is underneath the turret caps on my 3.5-21 DMR:

Thanks for the replies. I took off the windage knob and it was pretty obvious what was missing. The black plastic disc piece is attached to the inside of the elevation turret but the brass screw that is supposed to hold it to the scope body is MIA. Just spoke with bushnell customer service and they were surprisingly good to deal with. After a phone call and an email with pics of what I've got, the part is in the mail.
