Rifle Scopes bushnell 4200 elite tactical?

Re: bushnell 4200 elite tactical?

It has 50moa total elevation. That translates into about 50", but that is 25 up and 25 down. This limitation is what keeps a lot of people looking for other scopes.
I was looking for a scope and decided against the 4200 for that reason. I had one before and the glass is OK.
I decided on a Viper PA 6.5-20x44 after pestering just about everyone on this board and wavering for a while before buying. The vipers have 68moa elevation adjustment.
That 50mm for $400.00 is a good buy.
I don't have mine yet but everyone seems to think the Vipers are better than the 4200. some say better than Leupold Mk 4s.

$400 for the 4200 is a good deal. I paid $525 for LNIB. A 20 MOA base and i'm good to 1000. By the time I have the skill for 1000+, I'd be upgrading equipment again anyway.

Mine is ~45 MOA total travel. This is the V.1, SFP without the illumination. Most owners who have posted here about their UP state between 44 and 46 MOA, actual.

You'll want a 20 MOA rail, in the least, to get to 1k, short of shooting laser beams.

Yup. Mine has 44 vertical and 45 horizontal. I lost a few zeroing leaving me with just over 40MOA up but its good enough for me at this point.

I am in a similar situation. Trying to decide between the 4200 tactical(6 24X50 FFP 426245F)or the Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP that is not even out yet. The vortex is roughly $100 more than the 4200. I am pretty new to shooting, especially the MOA/Mil game.
Please give as much info either way.
Thanks

Same here.. Unfortunately, I thought I would only be shooting to 1K also which would have been fine. Now I find that im regularly shooting past 1K and it pisses me off that I dont have the elevation and have to start loading hot rounds and holding over.
