Ok, not really....I'm really just curious.
You hear time and again that 4200 glass is on par with vx3, yet you also hear vx3 and mark 4 glass are the same thing. I know these 2 scopes aren't usually used in the same sentence and I will probably be castrated for doing so, but I'm really wondering.
4200's are durable and repeatable in pretty much every review and their track record amongst owners seems to repeat those findings.
Aside from the name and customer service, what else are you getting with a Mark 4? Is 4200 and vx3/mark 4 glass really not on par? Is vx3/Mark 4 not really the same glass? Comparing 2 similar 'tactical' scopes, we're talking about 2x the price when you start adding in the options.
