So, I love Bushnell. I have used many of their ERS, DMR, XRS scopes and especially love my tactical spotter with ED glass. As soon as I heard they were offering FFP MRAD scopes with ED glass for under $800 I was pretty excited (and still am).

However, I have noticed that the specs/appearance of these new scopes EXACTLY matches the Athlon Ares BTR line. I mean, EXACTLY. Same. Exact. Specs.

I have nothing against Athlon. I hear they make decent scopes when you buy in the Ares/Cronus lines. So it looks like Bushnell is using Athlon's supplier/manufacturer and rebranding with slightly different reticles.

Just an observation.

Or maybe Athlon copied Bushnell's design and got their product out first. There are a lot of scopes that have been introduced that resemble others now. Revic's 428 scope looks a lot like a PST II. There are a couple of other scopes that I can't remember exact names that look just like the discontinued Weaver 6-30 with different reticles but with almost same specs. This just might be the new norm in the optics business.

I saw the new line coming available from Bushnell. I'm definitely curious as to its credibility. Thinking of jumping the Vortex ship and scoping all my rifles out again this year. Gotta have options ya know.... although, they may get back burner to a Springfield SAR4800
