Can anyone tell me the difference between the gen 1 and gen 2 bushnell xrs scopes? I am looking at buying a 4.5-30x50 gen 1, but would it be worth while to spend the extra money for a gen 2? Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have both, the gen2 is better in most ways than gen1, better glass( much more clear and better contrast, all the way to 30x), better turrets, better zero stop. In all, gen1 is a very nice scope, good glass to about 25x or so. clicks are repeatable. If you can not hit with gen1 xrs, a gen2 will not help you hit a target any better. But is sure nice to have nicer glass on the gen2.

Gen 2 turrets are shorter, turrets have half-mil markings, power selector ring has an optional throw lever, and focus eyepiece has a lock ring. I really like that lock ring. I personally haven't noticed a significant difference in glass, but my eye is not trained for noticing that. Gen 2 is better, but I still like the Gen 1. I'd pay $200 extra for a Gen 2.
