So a few folks got their hands on the first run PST scopes. Maybe they'll chim in but how does the new Elite 4200 6-24 mil\mil ffp scope compare to the Viper PST?

I'll tell you the main advantage to the Bushnell......You can get your hands on one right now! LOL. Serioulsy though, the PST is gonna win out huge in the elevation department!

That is funny and I agree. I really like the Bushnell TAC 3-12x FFP I have been think about running one a rifle I do not shoot much.

Re: bushy elite 4200 vs. v.viper pst??

I have the PST, but I've never looked through the Bushnell scope in question. But I will say that I have been let down on many occasions by Bushnell products and CS. I still technically own a Bushnell (a Bauch and Lomb elite 4200) and it has been a great scope besides the trip back to Bushnell. I would suspect the PST will exceed the Bushnell in most categories if not all.

Re: bushy elite 4200 vs. v.viper pst??

One more thing to consider is the warranty. I know Viper have lifetime warranty on their scope and Bushnell have a one year "No question asked".

Re: bushy elite 4200 vs. v.viper pst??

I have the Bushnell and am waiting on a PST for my other rifle. I was considering just getting another Bushnell but I really like some of the advantages the PST has

Better reticle
More elevation
Zero Stops
Warranty and CS is one of the best in the business
Red illuminated reticle compared to green on the Bushnell
I also believe the turrets will be awesome on the new PST's. My bushnell is ok but could be a little better

Re: bushy elite 4200 vs. v.viper pst??

I just bought and installed the Bushnell 6-24x50 FFP mil/mil and while I have very limited experience with other tactical scopes, it seems to match what I have read on here... tracks well, clear glass, relatively compact size, readily available, good value for $, but only has 12 mils of total elevation and about 6 after 100 yard zero on .308 with low badger rings (which may get me to 600-700 before gettin' into the 5 mils on the reticle), only 5 mils per turn, and only in mil-dot/green. But for the price, I like it, that is until I slam it up against a fencepost or blow it up... and I just couldn't wait until 2015 or whenever the PSTs come out...

FYI

I just saw on liberty optics site, that they have in stock the new ones with 20mils of elevation. perhaps you could send yousr in for an up grade.

I am considering one of these for myself as well.

I think your a little confused. Bushnell 4200's also have a limited lifetime warranty, in addition too a one year "No Questions Asked" policy. This one year thingee let's you return your scope to Bushnell anytime during the first year of ownership for a full refund of your purchase price.

Not a bad deal of your waiting on a Vortex PST. Buy the Bushy now, send it back when and if the PST's are available. They should call it the Bushnell "loan a FFP scope program, for frustrated Vortex FFP PST buyers".

Where do you see that the 6-24x50 FFP has 20mils of elevation? The only one I see that has 20 mils of elevation is the 3-12x44 FFP. If the 6-24x50 FFP has 20 mils I would seriously consider it.

Re: bushy elite 4200 vs. v.viper pst??

My 6-24x50 FFP has 12.9 total mils of elevation. I think I saw in a review done by Captain Kickass that his has 12.8 mils so I'd say that's probably pretty close to what all the 6-24's are gonna have.
