Rifle Scopes buy HD glass on SWFA scope of not

looking for feedback on if it is worth spending the extra $ on the HD glass on the SWFA scopes versus the standard glass. Is the HD clarity / resolution worth the extra $?

having looked through a fixed 10 power SS (not HD), and having an HD, there is not much debate. The HD is much more bright and images are crisp. Do mind, however, this is just my opinion. Everyone's eyes are different and the glass clairty question appears to have an inherently signififcant measure of subjectivity involved with it.

just getting back into shooting after several decades away..seems they have moved the damn targets much farther away or made them smaller than I remember!

Then there is the whole damn budget thing. Since I didn't win the mega millions jackpot last week I have to spend wisely. I am trying to make a smart purchase that I can afford now and that I won't outgrow is 6 months. With money so tight these days I have to stick to the fixed power scopes at SWFA

I have a standard 16x SWFA scope. It has seen service on my 22lr and currently sits atop my Savage 10PC 308. For $300 its is well worth the money and given the fact that it will eventually make its way back to my 22lr for 100 to 200yrd shooting I'd say I'll never 'out grow' it. It just depends on what you use it for and what kind of shooting you'll be doing. This scope has allowed me to decide what I really need in a long distance optic for my personal shooting needs.
Eventually I will be moving into something like an HD Glassed 5x20 SWFA or maybe a Vortex. Right now this standard glass scope works great out to 1000yrds. I know a better scope will be better at that distance but for now my 16x works fine. If you are going to shoot a lot and have a few rifles you may want to start with a less expensive scope until you find out what you really need, not what you think you need. You may be surprised to see how your 'needs' change with you're advancement into shooting longer distances.

I have several standard and HD models, there is no comparison. The HD glass is worth every penny, as these scopes are way brighter than the non HD.
