Buy more spare parts.
This is a "pre ban" bushmaster upper with probably 12-18000 rounds though it. Mostly suppressed/over gassed.

Yeah that's the only place they seem to rust. It's a 25+ year old working gun that has lived in a vehicle most of its life

I’m always a fan of having spare parts on hand. You never know when you’ll need one.

That being said, I don’t think I ever ended up using any of mine. Haha
