I'm not so sure the illegal immigration is "coordinated" as it is a confluence of interests. Liberal elites want voters who are captive to the liberal welfare state and will vote reliable blue, Conservative elites want cheap labor and a club to drive down wages for American citizens. Both sides have their own agendas but it's the American middle class that gets wrecked.

Abbott can't legally send them back to Venezuela but he can remove them from Texas, at least temporarily.

These rat children will get wic and medicaid once again raising our costs. Back then a lot of states offered jobs to immigrants and gave away free land. No such thing as health care back then but I'm sure if there was they would have got that too.
I'm not saying I agree with what's happening today. Immigration laws have changed since white people were the only people welcomed into the country and given free shit and immigration laws need to change more ... closing the asylum loophole is one change that needs to happen.

The emergency rooms around here are 25-30 illegal aliens in the waiting room vs 1 American citizen. It might not be “preferential” treatment per se, but if you have to wait 3 hrs to be shown an emergency room to wait in - it’s still a fact that we are completely overrun by illegals that sap any and all resources. We pay exorbitant amounts for health care - because none of them pay a penny. And without borders - there is absolutely no end in sight. If you have to go to the ER, you better hope they can triage correctly.

Go to another area and the emergency rooms might be filled with destitute citizens doing the same thing.
I've made it a habit (not bragging) to visit an ER once or twice a year for the past 50 or so years and there have never been more than a handful of people waiting ahead of me "around here". But that doesn't mean hospital that owns the ER I'm visiting isn't eating it's share of cost for treating people in the 5th ward or some barrio.
But this is nothing new, been that way nigh on 40 years.

the ER abuse has been going on from not 80s but at least '71 in my personal experience. eligibility for any "benefit" never an issue. no hosp admin is going to gamble bad press or suit by some ambulance chaser to risk any turn downs of care. thus ERs are over crowded,over worked and hugely expensive for many reasons. the cure is the same as the cure for any and all other welfare "rights"-end them all. not happening as long as "democracy" rules and civil rioting on steroids is to be avoided.
Before 1986 hospitals, maybe not all, were turning people away if they could not prove they had the ability to pay the bill and dumping patients who couldn't pay at other facilities.
The legislation signed by Regan compels hospitals with emergency services to provide care regardless of the ability to pay, regardless of citizenship, regardless of legal status ...
Before Reagan they had a choice but no more.
long story but yes til about '74 we could try to talk them out of being seen,but would not refuse without serious risk of many types. doctors in private hospital's ERs that had med staff were on 24hr shifts. stonewalling was sort of OK but caution was needed and i saw 1 huge disaster that stopped that cold. my hand was fortunately nowhere near that as i was very junior and had no input into such nursing decisions. public and academic places always had in house coverage of some kind even back then.
