Cabela ghil-Leaf series

Re: Cabela ghil-Leaf series

I use a ghil leaf jacket, especially turkey hunting. Crawling around in one would destroy it I expect but it is a very good cover layer for trestand and sitting against a tree hunting. My face mask is leafy wear also....very good hunting cover but the name "ghil" in it is misleading compared to what ghillie would mean on the Hide.

Re: Cabela ghil-Leaf series

I've gone one but NEVER use it. I got it for archery hunting and have turned to spot and stalk on the prairie instead if "ice fishing" from a tree stand.

Mine is a very light weight version, but i think with the proper surroundings, it would be great.

is this for going after turkey from the ground? or deer from the sky? ( i prefer vertigo camo for tree arial assault )

Re: Cabela ghil-Leaf series

I use a set for turkey hunting and they blend in well. No complaints at all.

Re: Cabela ghil-Leaf series

A guy that I hunted with last week used one. It blended in very well and didn't look like it would get hot at all. It is light weight and will tear apart if you do much more than walk in it.

Re: Cabela ghil-Leaf series

i have a 3d camo set like you describe and think it is awesome turkey coverup especially if you need something to quickly pullon over casual clothing last minute like. i tend to have my work uniform(blue shirt navy pants) under it and this gives a sky behind illusion i think.

Re: Cabela ghil-Leaf series

Thanks for replys guys, Hi Remsen your 3D Blends in very well, Is that the Seclusion pattern in picture also do you wear them over a jacket and pants when hunting in winter, thanks.

Re: Cabela ghil-Leaf series

My set is Mossy Oak New Breakup, if I remember right (I've had it for a few years). It's never that cold around here (Northern California) during turkey season so I just go in a pair of jeans and a tshirt and put the set right over that. A jacket would definitely be no problem either.
