so i just got one of the new cabellas catalogs and i saw these Cabellas Tactical Scopes and was wondering if anyone had ever tried them. I have a lot of upper end scopes, but for the price, if they are decent quality under $400 i might be interested in putting one on a "extra" rifle. I know it has some red flags like "99.95% light transmission" and that the 30mm allows "maximum brightness for surgical long-range preformance" lol. just thought i would throw it out there...

Like the old saying goes: "If it sounds too good to be true...it probably is!"

I have had a chance to look at several different models of Cabela's-brand scopes over the years (more recently one of their Lever action scope mounted on a friends Marlin) and they all left a lot to be desired. Sub-par glass, inaccurate tracking, won't hold zero, and prone to breakage. That said, I have not seen their new "Tactical" lineup yet with its "Countersniper-esque" features/marketing.

BUT, from past experience with their scopes, save your hard-earned money and look elsewhere for a budget-minded scope option if you need one.
