Would love to hear pet loads / advice for reloading for this specific gun. I have the 29” version.

I am new to 50 bmg’s as well as reloading for them.

I have a decent array of components built up so far. 100 pieces of virgin lapua brass, 500 cci #35 primers, jugs of 20n29, h50, rl50, us869, shooters world 50.

I am not opposed to single shot loading for better performance.

Have the same gun. I don't shoot it very often.
So far I have found it very accurate. I'm only shooting So. African 690gr ball over surplus powder.
I have Hornady ammo and components, I just haven't put the time in yet.

These are all max pressure loads in my rifle, so work your way up accordingly. Originally tested in 85~ degree weather. May be slower in colder temps.

Another member here told me about the Thunder Ammo 770g bullets which I tried recently, they are great, new favorite for bolt action. More consistent results out to 1k than the others I've shot. I load them way beyond mag length, hardly any of the bullet is seated into the neck to achieve distance from lands. So don't try this load with it shoved way down in the case.

The Lehigh 650's are cheap, but I couldn't get good accuracy out of 40 test loads.

I'm waiting on my order of Reloader 50 to arrive. I've read it can get significantly more speeds than other 50 rated powders, so I'm curious to try. In my experience H50 and US869 get the same max velocity as pressure signs appear.

Something else worth noting is I switched the muzzle brake to the Surefire SPS (waiting on the suppressors to get in stock). Muzzle blast and noise is noticeably reduced. Even with doubled up hearing the Cadex brake was making my ears ring after shooting 10 rounds. The Surefire SPS eliminated this, was able to shoot 35~ in an afternoon feeling normal at the end. I'm convinced the baffles being 90 degrees outwards instead of pointing towards the shooter makes a difference.
