Cal vs PSR

I have both. Legs appear to be identical.

CAL has a wider stance, sits forward a touch further, and has no pan feature. IMO perfect for the bench and square ranges.

PSR is narrower overall And of course can pan. I generally grab it when hunting due to the lower profile.

Before getting a tripod I would run a PSR with 1/2” dowels as leg extensions while hunting. In this role I prefer to have the ability to pan.

ETA: Both are plenty durable. Customer service is second to none. So I wouldn’t worry if there’s an issue down the line.

My CAL is actually an “upgraded” V7 from one of the first batches released. If you can, get both.

I had a PSR. It was a great bipod and I had no complaints. Then I got a CAL. Soon after, I sold the PSR and bought another CAL. For me, it seems a bit more stable, it meets all my needs, and I like not having the pan feature (which I didn't really use).

The PSR seems to be rigid enough on my 10 pound AR, but there was noticeable wobble on my 20 pound bolt gun so I got a CAL and it provides the needed rigidity. Some others have mentioned that panning a bipod leads to off axis recoil, and should be avoided. I haven’t had a chance yet to run this CAL enough to know if I really miss the pan feature.
