just put a Mk II on layaway , odd thing is it has a RA/flaming bomb stamp on the barrel , also marked on the barrel 12/35 , rifle checked all the box's which is why i leaped , can someone who is in the know confirm Remington produced barrels for Springfield for their M1922 rifles

i did a search and it came back "YES" they did but none of the references attached to the result actually had anything confirmation of it , thanks in advance

again , barrel date is 12/35 with the flaming bomb , im told Remington did not start producing 03 barrels until the 1940's , im calling today to get it cleared up , must be a typo , has to be , thanks for the thought though

called them today and asked them to verify , it was a error they had in the description , it is a SA ordinance stamp , he said he thinks they had a couple rem guns listed and they had the RA flaming bomb on the brain when writing the description for my rifle

no i put it on layaway yesterday , should have it in 2 weeks , the listing said RAflaming bomb , im far from a expert on the earlyish US stuff , i figured Remington produced some barrels for springfield , then someone on the M14 forum who was well versed started piecing the puzzle and came to the conclusion they errored stating RA instead of SA because of the barrel date , he said remington didnt even start in on 1903's until 41 so no way they were tooled up in 35 to produce a barrel that could have been sleeved and swapped out

its a sweet piece , i will follow up with some pics when i get my grubby mits on it , i never paid that much for a .22 ($1245) so when people started talking possible sleeved bore my sphincter knotted up

I am far from an expert on the .22 M1903's, but I've looked at a lot and owned a lot of them. I don't remember a Remington .22 barrel.

I also doubt it would be a 1935 dated one. Remington did some custom barrels for the commercial market. I don't think Remington had any 03 contracts for parts before basically the start of WWII. If they did it's not listed in the Remington or Army Ordnance docs, which I've dug in both a lot.

I would double check. I think the dealer might have some details confused. It's probably SA 1935

previous post explains it was resolved , error on the description , thinks he had done a couple rem rifles before this one and had RA prdinace mark on the brain , it is in fact a SA barrel , he physically confirmed while i was on the phone
