calling people with Sig Kilo 2200MR

have you noticed a particular spot you need to hold with the center circle to get an accurate reading?

I bought a lightly used one here on SH and took it out yesterday. Long story short after a buddy chasing 30 rounds of 6BR and not being able to figure out wtf was going on with his dope/distance we realized we wouldn't get an accurate reading on the steel target unless we used the top edge of the circle as the aiming point. so we were getting readings 25 yards too far when using the center of the circle.

Any similar experiences?

Great rangefinder.... But, you have to find out what part of the reticle is best aligned with the laser.
A telephone pole or cell tower array at a distance will help you find the sweet spot.
Approach the object from either side and from above and below in Scan Mode.
Mine is at 2 o'clock on the inner reticle circle....

okay cool. good to know. I think we found the sweet spot but I'll confirm next time I'm out.

we parked a truck next to the steel plate and lazed it at 718 and put the circle around the steel plate and got 743. then my buddy finally realized if he used the top portion of the circle he got 715ish

I haven’t handled many LRF. But I do like this one except I wish the reticle was a dot or cross or something a bit more precise than a big circle. That’s my only gripe along with the aiming point situation

Mine too. Between 2-3 o'clock just inside inner circle.

Had same alignment on my 2200MR ,top left of the circle. But i am glad be done with it. Sig Sauer Kilos like many branded chicoms vary massively unit to unit , many are total junk very few make it close to being decent.
Glass is total POS wth clear center but masive distortion near the edges , just about the worst glass (probably plastic) i have seen in any LRF ..
If i would be buying a chicom LRF again i would avoid Sig like plague. Would probably go for Nikon 4K i know it has hideus reticle ,but so far we tested it ,it surpased all Kilo units we could test , also had better glass. We also tested the Nikon Monarch 3000 , while stabilisation is amazing ,ranging practical sized targets past 900-1000y is hard.

But it you can afford it go for Leica 2000 or 2700.

After going over 5 LRFs in past 2 years i finaly bought a Terrapin X and hope my days of hunting for a decent LRF are over

Well, I guess I just got lucky with my Sig Kilo 2000 and 2400 ABS.

To be fair, I like my 2200 BUT first one was a dud and had to send it in for repair. Wouldn't run any targets past 500-600 in any condition and sometimes/maybe picked up a tree line out to 700ish.

Their replacement times are terrible (took 6+ weeks door to door with 2nd day air both ways) and had to call 3 times to get them to ship the replacement, which they confirmed they were going to do after a week or so. Took 4 weeks to locate a replacement and another to ship it out.

But all that said, for $350 on sale, I think it does a pretty damn good job . I can consistently range 700 yard 16" silhouettes off hand and out to 1100 with a brace/tripod. I just wish it had a either a remote trigger or a lighter trigger to minimize the wiggle when ranging.

I got lucky , my 2200 works fine for a cheap RF . Aim point is around 2 o’clock . As mentioned above , use a
power line or small reflector to establish the exact position of aimpoint in circle .
