I came across a few cheapies that looked dipped from factory at my local Gander Mountain Store, just curious if anyone tried dipping their high end glass and if so, any pics?

Have not done it my self, but it is possible to do. It's called Hydro-graphic printing, just a film they put over water and spray some chemical on it and dip, they can dip just about any thing. Place I know of in north Texas has a life time warranty. Here is some links you can check out, search and you will find some in your area.

I don't know about "high end" glass, but Camo Solutions (<span style="color: #3333FF"><span style="font-weight: bold">Camo Solutions Link</span></span>) will dip your scope. Dom Mullis owns the business, and in a shameless plug for a friend, he does the best Camo-film dipping I've ever seen. Don says he rarely has any trouble with scopes. The ones he has a problem with seem to all have the parallax adjustment on the scope objective bell as opposed to on the erector housing. I don't know the % of objective-bell-parallax-adjustment scopes that leak, but he says those are the only ones that give him a problem. He does advise the customer of all the above before he dips the scope.

Agreed...I have one at Duracoat right now. The down side is Duracoat single color is double the price of the dipping, even more if you want something like digital camo or other camo patterns. However, when you're considering 1K and up for scopes, that's pretty cheap insurance.

Actually, what causes the most problem for my friend is the 10 minute wash that's at a moderate pressure. It seems to force it's way under the adjustable objective bell.
He uses some pretty caustic stuff in his process, and if that 10 minute wash carried some of those chemicals IN when it's the step designed to get them OFF, he could severly damage a scope.
I think it could be fixed, but why take the chance. The Duracoat is a High Volume Low Pressure (HVLP) process, and they have their shit together there at Lauer Custome Weaponry, the home of Duracoat.
