Fieldcraft Camo pattern?

I've been screwing around with some paint and wooden stakes (cheaper than rifles) to come up with a pattern I like before I actually start dousing thousands of dollars worth of guns with the rattle can...
These are what I've come up with so far...

So, what do you all think, aside from the fact that none of them blend well with my kitchen?

All depends on what enviorment you will be in, if that is of no concern then go with the one you like most. I like things simple, so im leaning towards 3.

Number 2 for me. The idea is to not have a 'pattern' you want to break up recognizable shapes through the use of different colors and shapes. Takes a good bit of experimentation and knowing what the field looks like plays a big factor in creating an effective camoflauge.

In that terrain I would stick to a lighter color, so im holding with number 3 or maybe 5

i like #5 with the addition of the white and black "highlights" shown on #2. will help break it up better, stopping it from "blobbing". you can then wrap some tan/brownish gillie strips on it to blend in more with that switch grass, or even use a more brown base to get more of a see thru effect.

#3 looks pretty good for your area, maybe a shade lighter.

none of the above..i would just start with a lighter base then add some green and brown grass shades....

Why don't you paint your stakes, put 'em in the ground, take pics, and then let us decide? It's far easier to judge color blending and whatnot then. Just a thought...

As of right now, I'm personally for #5 with a little lighter color added.

I have to go with TOP on the #5 stake... looks pretty good, and should be easily modified for just about any environment you can ever encounter... good job!!

A firearm, in place, is essentially a horizontal line. That's what needs to blend into the surround.

In a featureless surround, a featureless pattern works better. In a feature-rich surround, a pattern which breaks up the overall shape has the advantage. These factors create the paradox which makes no single camo strategy universally effective.

Remember to blend and practice countershadowing (lighter below to offset shadow darkening, darker above to reduce the brightening caused by more direct lighting. I call this camo strategy 'sharkflage').

I'll look into getting some pics of the stakes in the ground, but it's rainy and nasty today, so I won't be heading into the mountains for a photo-shoot...
