I am renovating a bathroom and moving the vanity. There used to be two vanities and I am reducing it down to one. The old vanity on the right used to not drain well and based on what I have discovered from removing the dry wall, it looks like the drain created a trap?

I am wanting to install the new vanity on the right hand side, however based on the location of the existing plumbing, the drain and water outlets will have to be slightly moved to accommodate the location of the new vanity. I do plan on having a plumber do this.

However, I am plenty confident to handle the rough in for the drain. My question is… what is my best solution to allow proper draining and no air traps based on the existing conditions? I do not want to have to remove much more drywall if I don’t have to. But if I need to to do it properly then I do not mind. Do I just need to “T” at the sink. Go up and 90 back to the vent?

Any help I appreciate. I don’t mind texting or talking on the phone. I have more pictures available.

Thanks Hide.

I came up with my version of the "Do You Hear What I Hear?" Christmas song back about 1998 and sang it to a father and son plumbing team that was working on a school kitchen remodel we were doing at an elementary school.

"Said the electrician to his helper,
Do you smell what I smell?
Said the electrician to his helper,
Do you smell what I smell?
A plumber, a plumber.
You'd better run for cover
'Cause they always smell that way
No matter how many times they bathe a day."

You are welcome, internet.

Doesn't look like there is any trap on the horizontal drain line in the wall looks like it has the minimum 1/8" per foot maybe more.

Code says on a 1-1/2" P-trap the vent needs to be within 6 ft. The top of the 2x1-1/2 tee is the vent and that looks to be within 6ft.

If it was draining slow it was probably because of hair in the drain and or p-trap of that sink.

The easy button would be to just cut out the current tee and replace it with a new 2"x1-1/2"x1-1/2" tee reconnect the 2" at the bottom and the 1-1/2" at the top and 1-1/2 branch (horizontal drain) then plug the hot and cold pex lines not needed anymore.

Interesting your drain lines are not abs. Anywho yes a tee there to go to your trap to your drain

They're PVC most places. ABS is only required in places where someone figured out there's chloride in the PVC and they somehow think it's a health hazard for waste and vent.

Anyways, I would just cap that left t off, toss a threaded plug in and a clean out cover for future snaking, and call it a day.
If you're moving the right side one at all just maintain the slope for drainage. Grab a plumbing level and find a YouTube video on how to use it if needed.
