Can I brag just a little bit

The only range anywhere near me is only 100yds. Wanting to shoot a little farther I went to my buddies house last week and stepped off 200yds. (I spent my first eight years in the army in a leg unit and spent considerable time as the point man, so I knew my pace count) My friend wanted to know how close to 200yds I thought I was. I told him I did not know for sure but I thought I was real close.

Wanting to know for sure what the distance was and wanting to shoot 400-500yds soon I bought a digital range finder. I went to my friends house this morning to range the 200yd target we were shooting last week. When I ranged it, it came up 199yds.

I just thought it was pretty cool that I was that close.

Good sh*t. It's always nice when the old grunt skills come back to serve us. A couple of times over here in trashcanistan my map has gotten us places that someone's dicked-up GPS couldn't find. The young guys look stunned that the old guy pulled a trick out of his hat.

Good on ya! Being that I have the same attention span as my 3 year old, I've made some pretty fabulous screwups, such as forgetting to move my beads on a 10k movement in area-J. That'll make you're battle buddy happy!
