Can I have rings custom made?

I have a Barrett Fieldcraft. I’d like 34mm low/medium rings but the only commercially available option right now is to add a pic rail and separate rings. Talley and DNZ make 1” and 30mm direct mount rings but nothing in 34mm. The pic rail is just too high.

Is there anyone who’d make rings or a mount for the Fieldcraft?

I’m not asking to debate the merits of this venture, I just want to know if the Hide knows of a custom shop that could make 34mm direct mount rings patterned for a Fieldcraft.

Have you called Talley?

I would guess they're not asked for because the larger tubes add weight. Most guys are going with a light 1" scope in Talley Ulta light rings to save every ounce they can.

Sure, will you send your rifle as a T&E platform and make a $1000.00 deposit?

Are any of the available 30mm rings bulky enough to machine to 34mm?

No, they’re not.

Perhaps the cost of using my rifle as a T&E gun is that I get a pair of rings out of it. ?

I’ve not called Talley but I suppose it couldn’t hurt. Maybe they’ve already got something in the works.

The Fieldcraft is intended to be an ultralight rifle but they’ve come out with some limited runs that have a sporter barrel (I have one). With scopes like the Mk5HD and Mk6 out there, you’d think there’d be some demand for 34mm and 35mm rings. The fashionable scopes for a lot of Fieldcraft owners are SWFA or Nightforce SHV 3-10x42 or NXS 2.5-10x42. These are 21oz, 12” scopes. The Mk5 and Mk6 3-18x44 is 24oz and 12” but has a 34mm tube and is what I’d like to put on my Fieldcraft.

Use a stock pack/ duck tape and mouse pad/ vet rap and foam strips/ etc to build up the cheek rest and use whatever rings you want. Worrying about scope height over bore is so 1980.

The lowest 34mm rings are APA at .856”. If the height of these with pic rail gets you close, the only thing you need to check is turret housing and ocular bell clearance.

I know this is an old thread, but I was browsing online and ran into this picture. It appears to be an ATACR(34mm), mounted in talleys. I wonder why they aren’t available, since they have made at least one set?

if you got the money there is bound to be someone willing to make you what ever it is you could want . or for 1/3 rd the cost duct tape and some super glue can fix almost anything andf maybe some bailing twine just to make it look better .
