Can magnum primer be used instead of large rifle primers

LRM can be used but if your load is hot it will probably bring problems so a reworking of the load is recommended.

Lots of pistols have issues setting off small rifle primers and small pistol in a rifle is asking for problems.

LR and LR Mag interchange with a slight powder charge reduction.

SR can be used in some small pistol applications but don’t be retarded and use them to light off a max load of fast burning powder because you will get blown primers and an etched breech face.

Also depends on the primer. For example, the only difference between LR and LRM made by Wolf, is the metal used for the primer cup. Charge is the same.

CCI military primers (#34 LR and #41 SR) are all "magnum strength." This according to the CCI website. If you have worked up loads using regular rifle primers then you need to back off some until you see what difference the magnum primers make.
As for swapping rifle and pistol primers-just don't.

I have a good supple of magnum prime but need large rifle primers. Can they be interchange safely.

Can small rifle primers interchange with small pistol primer.
Don a Magnum primer is designed with a longer burning and much hotter flame, for large amounts of SLOW burning powders, IE IMR-7977,8133, 7828. In large cases IE 7MM Rem Mag, 300 Win Mag, 338 Win Mag. Depending on the case, putting a LR in the place of a LRM could have adverse results on the internal and external ballistic of the load.

Some handguns will not be able to ignite a small rifle primer.

Last crisis some people were using them to replace small pistol primers. Make sure you work back up if you are swapping primer types.
