Wondering if anyone has a reamer i can "rent"?
I'll pay shipping both ways and for your troubles.

I need to do a cut and recrown on one rifle.

Silly question: If you're doing a cut/crown, what do you need the reamer for?

there is a reamer rental company that I use. All the reamers are Pacific Tool And Guage.

Skip the reamer and single point the crown. Thats what all the big boys do

The only reason i'm doing this on my own is the 100.00 price tag my smith quoted me and the extra 100.00 if he had to remove the barrel from the receiver.
I don't mind paying for good work, but this is my knock around hunting rig so i want to try it myself. The first inch will be a test.

do you have a lathe? if not, forget the single point. there are a few things sold for doing the crown. someone had a video of it a while back

If your smith wants a hundred bucks to remove the barrel and another hundred to recrown it, what you need is a new smith.

Try PT&G. Good non-rotating piloted cutter. Then you can rent it out on the Hide for $20 per time and get your money back mo skosh.

He might be a little steep on this but he is good. Just depends on what you need done.
