Yeah, squat down between the beaver and its path out to take a pic. Good idea!
The mighty beaver is responsible for our nutrient rich soil all across America, as their ponds are always in new locations and over time most places got a little taste of the beaver.
Why always in new places? Young beaver is not allowed to hang out with Mom and Dad, but must move down stream and make their own dam right away.
How to trick beaver?
Put a battery powered radio that plays a CD or MP3 of running water and they will build a dam over the radio. Wait nearby with a slingshot or a 7mm and beaver will be in/on your face that evening.
