Ive got my new gun at the smith right now have work done and he let me know that the bedding was curring and that he would be cerakoting next week. Is that possible? I figured the cerakote would need to be on before bedding because of the additional thickness of the cerakote? Is the cerakote not thick enough to matter?

Ok thanks. In my mind I was thinking if you bedded the action it would basically be an air tight fit then putting a layer of cerakoting on the action I couldnt see how it would not be stressed and tighter.

Exactly what I was wondering. I'm planning to Duracoat and bed my action. I wasn't sure if I could bed the action first, then while the bedding is curing for awhile work on the Duracoat end of things.

I would have thought that the fit would be much tighter after the extra finish is applied and would inhibit the action from fully seating in the bedding material.

I bed after finish and have no problems at all with either. Am I a "pro".....I know my bedding and coating are just as good as any.

It's not hard, just be careful and think things through ahead of time.
