I'm buying a used Nikon Buckmaster 3-9x40 for my brother-in-law. He's going to mount it on his .22 mag rifle that he keeps with him while on his farm.
It's not as important as a $1000 tactical rig, but I would like to make sure he's getting a fair shake.
It appears to be an older model in good shape. Machined below the turrets it reads "3-9x40 KB117164 Philippines".
Is this scope as good as new ones made today in the same model?
Cost is $100 cash, and it's black matte.
