I was just wondering for those of you who have run a carbon fiber barrel in a prs or nrl style match did notice any mirage from your 10-12 shot strings of fire?

hmmm interesting question, i dont have a CF barrel but would think there would be alot less mirage than a SS barrel.. waiting on replies
Most of the mirage from my CF barrel is from the suppressor. Despite covering it, there is still some mirage after 10-15 shots in a row 6.5 PRC. Good glass helps mitigate it also.
Proof CF sheds heat faster than solid steel. Have not seen anything on other barrels. The mass of the steel barrels takes longer to absorb and then dissipate heat.
That said, I don't think it is going to make a difference in a competition setting. A suppressor would heat faster and give off more mirage faster than a CF barrel.
