Has any of you guys melted you hand guards in carbon fiber. Thinking of getting one for true future. Worried about melting the dam thing. Any thoughts

Usually carbon fibre compounds are bonded with epoxy or better resins. They do not melt or get formable. If becoming too hot the resins start breaking down, the part is destroyed. The max working temperature is usually found in the datasheet, look up some manufacturer pages.

If you melt a magpul handguard, a carbon handguard could be compromised too.

I don't think a AR manufacturer would use carbon if it could get easily overheated.

Carbon fiber is used for some mountain bike disc brakes. They get hotter than a hand guard ever would.

You won't, EVER, melt a true CF handguard. PERIOD!

Now, some of the "lesser" designed setups like the epoxied in place DPMS factory CF handguards originally shipped with a grossly inadequate epoxy resin that was prone to failing both due to impact and due to heat. DPMS remedied that issue, but the newer epoxy they ship is so strong that once you epoxy the handguard tube to the barrel nut, it is considered permanent because the heat/torque required to remove the unit generally damages the handguard tube.

Quality products in CF like those from PRI, Lancer, CarbonArms to name a few will give you a lifetime of faithful service, even under extreme use/abuse.

these are the lancer systems round handguards

I have CF hand guards from Lancer and AP Customs an they are great. Light, strong and durable. You aren't going to melt a CF hand guard.
