Re: Carbon Panther

I agree. This was my first scope purchase and I was on tight budget. I can already see, the gun will out perform the scope once I get some trigger time. What would be a good scope for this gun. I would like to be be able to hit the bull's eye from about 300 yards someday. Don't want to pay for the scope than the gun.

Re: Carbon Panther

As you'll learn here on the Hide, there MANY options for your stick. Your AR is capable of MOA (or less) groups at 800+ yards. 300 yards is doable with the glass you have on the gun right now, to be honest. A good, low dollar FFP/mil-mil option you can learn about here is the Vortex Viper PST. There are various configurations you can choose from. Another is the Super Sniper line from SWFA. Both have their pluses and minuses, but depending on your rifles POU (Philosophy Of Use), you can set up your rig accordingly, and there are options.

Edit: Just checked the Optics For Sale forum and saw this. Might be a good option for your rig.

Re: Carbon Panther

I purchased that 4x12 Elite on-line for $207.00 which I thought was a pretty good price for a fair entry level scope in my budget. I have since upgraded using Bushnell's Upgrade Service option. For $130.00, they exchanged that scope for their new 2011 model E6241

6-24x40 Mill Dot, Argon, AO, Semi-target Turrets.

I am much happier with this scope now and not a bad price at $337 total. I have to give Bushnell credit, they provided very good customer service.

Now off to target practice.
