iam just about out of lee case lube it seems to be pretty good but was curious what ever one else uses ? seems you could get the spray lube and spray it into a zip lock bag and put your brass in and shake it around take the brass out and put more brass in and shake that around and get more brass done with less lube used spray wise vs the lee stuff.

thanks in advance

Lanolin comes from sheep's wool, which leads me to believe he's talking about the kind of alcohol you drink

Re: case lube !! whats your fav ?

I use RCBS Water Soluble case lube in the same manner as folks apply Imperial Sizing Wax. It has the form of a very thick liquid detergent. I tried Dawn and it works, but it also feels a little 'snaggy/draggy'. I remove the lube by wiping the case with a cotton cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol, and the cases end up squeaky clean. I kept misplacing the tiny bottle and now I have three of them. I expect them to outlive me.

I like the Dillon lube.

Tried making my own, with lanolin and Rubbing alcohol. I can't seem to buy anything over 91% (need 99%) alcohol. So mine separated, and was a waste of time and $.

So I'll stick with the Dillon stuff.

Re: case lube !! whats your fav ?

RCBS case slick. The spray is easy to use, and the rcbs seems to be less tackey so its not all over you and everythign else, and works with out a hitch so far.

Re: case lube !! whats your fav ?

I use Imperial Wax but the Lanolin/Alcohol trick is this:

Buy Lanolin Oil
Buy 91% Rubbing Alcohol (Isopropyl)

Mix 1 part Lanolin and 9 parts alcohol in a spray bottle. Shake well. Spray liberally on your cases and let the alcohol evaporate off for a few mins.

Run them through the sizer, load, etc. then wipe off the cases either with tumbling the loaded rounds in a corn cob media style tumbler or with the alcohol wipe that Greg L. posted.

It works fine.

Re: case lube !! whats your fav ?

+ 1 for RCBS . I don't like " sprays " of any kind as you end up breathing in the super fine droplets that float around.
They work well but aerosols are a health hazzard IMO.

Re: case lube !! whats your fav ?

Hornady One Shot. Follow the directions and keep your dies clean. I've loaded thousands of rounds without a single problem. The best part is it's clean, fast and no big sticky, gooey mess.

Re: case lube !! whats your fav ?

I use the Lee lube and mix it with the highest % rubbing alcohol I can find at the store. I think I ended up using 93%. Mix about 1 part lube to 8 or so parts alcohol. I put it in one of the spray bottles you can get at wal mart for a buck. I've been using the same bottle of spray I mixed up almost 4 years ago. I've done around 5K .223 and 600 .308 with that bottle and its only half gone. I put the brass in a gallon ziplock, spray it a couple of times and shake it around. Then just open the bag and let it sit for a few minutes for the alcohol to evaporate. Never had a stuck case.

Re: case lube !! whats your fav ?

I like one shot but can't compare it to anything else since I've always used it. Spray a block of 50 at a time, size them all, and good to go. They claim you can just load the rounds but I do like to clean the cases off first.

Re: case lube !! whats your fav ?

Another vote for Hornady One Shot. I use it for high volume 223 reloading. I use the bag technique with about 20 to 40 pieces of brass at a time. I never bother to tumble it off. You can feel it on the finished rounds but not sticky and has never caused a problem shooting. Loaded thousands that way.
