CDI DBM and FN A3G accuracy, official word? rd 2

Last year, I bought a used A3G from another Hide member. In wringing it out, I was unable to get it to shoot properly, and at one point before I was certain it was bad, I had CDI install his bottom metal. Interestingly enough, the bottom metal on this gun was not bedded from the factory.

Finally, FN determined that the barrel was bad as a result of the defective chrome plating that happened in the 16xxx serial number range, so they replaced the entire gun.

FN returned my CDI bottom metal and Alpha Type 2 mag to me when they replaced my A3G.

I'm now at 500 rounds on my new A3G, and have determined that it does in fact shoot to specification. I would really like to have the CDI metal re-installed (and CDI graciously offered to do it for me at a reduced rate because of my defective rifle) but I'm concerned that I got really lucky the first time and FN might not be so kind as to honor the warranty again if this gun should quit shooting unexpectedly.

I talked to Mr. Voss here on the Hide about the previous gun, and he was helpful in getting it resolved. Does anyone know if he or FN have ever said for sure whether the CDI metal (installed BY CDI) does or does NOT void the FN accuracy guarantee?

If it's really worrying you, then get the FN TBM system. But if you intend on putting a muzzlebrake, triggerwork and anything else that will void the warranty, then get the action opened up and run the CDI bottom metal.
