+ 1 on Mark Pharr Excellent job on my cut down and thread and quick turn around. He also did a nice job on my tactical bolt knob.

I recommend Mark as well. He did a nice job bedding my rifle and installed a bolt knob for me as well. I plan on using him for future work.

I don't know what his lead time is, but you may also look for Garland Gilbreath, I believe his business is called "Triple G Gunsmithing". He typically builds custom rifles, and has some lead time, so I'm not sure if he's doing any cut down and threading, but he might be. I've shot several rifles that he's built and they're ALL shooters, and beautiful. He's in Stephenville, TX and his number I believe is (254) 965 6464.

Hmmm...I know of a few smiths in the south austin area, but wanted to get some input from the other forum members. It seems one smith is voted highest amongst others.

I'm trying out Hank Fleming for a Destroyer Carbine cut/thread and conversion to 9mm Parabellum. It should be done next month, I'll let you know how it turns out.
I'd love to know if there are any decent gunsmiths in central or Northwest Austin, or Cedar Park.
