I am looking to coat a customer's barrel and control parts in red cerakote. The weapon is a glock 20, 10mm, and he is looking to have namely his barrel and trigger and controls done.

I am wondering if anybody has some extended wear pics they could send of how a barrel will look after a number of shots. I do realize that wear will occur, as does my client. However, if I start to see bare metal after 100 rounds I won't feel comfortable going through with this coating. So the more pictures I can see of individuals who have coated their barrels and kept track of wear, the better.

Again, I am just looking for ideas on what to expect and be able to warn my customers about if they do wish to go ahead with barrel coatings.

Once again, thanks for all of your help and time.

Re: Cerakote on Glock Barrel Pics

I just did a Ruger LC9 slide and barrel in Graphite Black this weekend, but they just shipped out yesterday so I won't have results for a bit. I'll have him keep track of it with pictures at various round-counts.

On a Glock, I think the Nitriding will hold its own pretty well over time, but the finish on the Ruger seemed like it would even rust in a bucket of oil....
