Hello,

What is everyone's opinion regarding the CG X-Treme 2 Stage Trigger? For a Remington 700.

This will always be used from a bench, will never be used in the field.

I don't know about the x-treme 2, but I have CG Jackson on my Badger action and I really like it. It is an earlier model so I don't know what the differences would be. It took some getting used to initially, now I've grown quite fond of it.

I don't know if a two stage is the best for your application but, if that is what you want the the Jackson is probably the best one.

It is a great trigger. It will adjust to anything you want. It is very robust and will not blow up if you blow a primer. Also the first stage is 100% adjustable. You can take it all out and it is a single stage. I switched from a Jewel, and I will not go back.

Thank you everyone for all of your replies.

I would like to ask those who use this trigger:

What are your triggers set at? What weight for the 1st stage, and what weight for the 2nd stage?

How light have you set the trigger?

Is the rifle used in the field for hunting? shooting from the bench? or tactical use?

Re: CG X-Treme 2 Stage Trigger, Opinions Needed

diSko,
I am currently running 2 of these triggers. I shoot F-TR class matches with these guns. I have both set with a combines pull weight of about 10 oz. The first stage will come in at 4oz. This is as light as I can make it run consistantly. My .223 has nearly 1000k rounds without any adjustments. The sear engagement on these triggers is completely controlable and predictable. The sear engagement is also independant of all weight of pull adjustments. Even at the 1.5lbs they come factory set at they are very crisp. It is a completley different feel from a Jewel. I like them both, but right now I am running all extreme. The X-Treme CG seems to be much more tollerant of overpressure, primer piercing ect. That is a good thing during load development, ask me how I know....
as always YMMV-
Rob

Thanks all for your opinions and input.

I just want to be sure that I am well informed before I make my purchase.

I was thinking of purchasing from X-Treme Shooting.
Any other recommendations on where to purchase?
