What is involved in changing the barrel on a 22/45? I have one that I would like to have a threaded barrel on. I can get a replacement barrel cheaper then I can get it threaded.
It appears that fitting the barrel to the receiver takes some skill.
It will probably be cheaper to get yours threaded than to buy your cheaper threaded barrel , then get it installed, timed and headspaced on your receiver.
Taking yours off and putting it back on is not hard other than the loc-tite they use at the factory. Installing a different barrel to your upper is a little more tricky and take some 'smithin.
Thanks for the input. It looks like I'll eather need to have my barrel threaded or buy an upper like the tactical solutions. Does anyone know of anyone beside Tac Sol who makes an upper? Also where would I get the best price on a Tac Sol upper? Thanks
