Trying to understand how Stiller Tac 30 action will work with different BBLs.
Seems logical if you thread barrels for one action, same bolt pined lug ,with witness mark .Using proper torque I could swap myself. (no head space gauge required?)
As for true switch BBL I dont care about speed I will use vise (21st century shooting supply)and internal action insert.
Some are drilling action to insert screw , there are so many ideas out there .
With no experience I need to see how to simply change with minimal risk, not to bugger things up
Thanks

Reason for Stiller is I have a cadex Lite strike chassis , so without modifing chassis a WTO Lug is not an option at this point

should work just like a 700 Remington. probably the same tools. smith fits multiple barrels to your receiver and you change them yourself. you could talk to brownells about tools or stiller. some people apply a lubricant to barrel and receiver threads to prevent galling. research this you want to avoid twisting or scarring your receiver. barrels with no taper can be switched without removing receiver from the stock.

Very easy and you don't need witness marks. When the two shoulders come together headspace is fixed. Rotational movement doesn't change that. And unless you're using a machine with very high torque you, manually, can't change the rotational location. All that is confirmed with all the gas gun barrels I do where the gas port is timed to fall in the groove. Many data points there. I don't see all the custom actions that are on the market today but there are many that I chamber for and I never need your action in the shop. Dimensions are that consistent, as they should be.
Bottom line is if you can change a light bulb you can change a barrel.

Thanks DT I was thinking there is not much to it . I also was thinking to use permatex as a thread protector the copper one for heat resistance.
Using a torque wrench I should also be able to record what torque setting was used .
My rifles are all Imp. versions so I want to use a bbl to fire form and switch to a comp. bbl . seems to logic I can ask smith to head space both bbls equal .
