Got a springfield saint 308 with the little carbine length extension tube and what I think is mid length gas. I want to change it to an A2 stock for better LOP. Will this have any effect on the gun running?

It shouldn't.

Make sure you buy a 308 rifle length buffer.... a standard AR15 length rifle buffer is to long. ( And the current carbine buffer won't work, and using it would damage your lower badly )

If your firearm has a Adj. GB.. you might need to readjust it.

Thanks bud.
I just ordered this https://www.opticsplanet.com/luth-ar-308-buffer-body.html
And a fancy JP polished spring for 308.
Im gona cannibalize a tube, spacer and stock from one of my other rifles for now.
It does have an adjustable GB but I still have not messed with it yet. It's set WFO for now because I'm still working on a load for it.

I've always said no one should just buy an AR because you will just end up changing everything. Well this time I didn't follow my own advice and I think I'm quickly regretting it lol.

Ok guys I shot it this weekend and it runs great. I used a quality tube and with the polished spring it's silent and feels smooth when pulling the handle. I think it kicks less to but I never really notice that stuff.
The LOP is wayyy better to, my nose has some room now lol.
