I have a 1500 Currently. I have been looking at the new CM Lite. Wondering if its a upgrade compared to the old one? Or is it a wash. Was considering getting the Auto Throw/Trickler for the A&D but Some things came up and not longer in my price range. But if the CM lite is a upgrade compared to the old one. It might be worth investing in 1 or 2.

If you already have a 1500, Id stick with that. I bought a lite as my first dispenser/scale and it had to be sent back to RCBS due to the scale being busted (would jump all over constantly and never settle). Within 2 weeks (I'm in Canada so this is good) I had a new one at my door and a cheque for the shipping amount back to them, plus their CS was great to deal with. This one works great and I do like to smaller size. But looking back, I should have just got a 1500, although by no means am I upset with my lite. It does what I need accurately enough. I'm also not looking for 1 kernel accuracy either though.

My friend tried a lite and we compared the performance between it and my older 1500. It was hard to tell the difference. We were using varget and rl15 in the normal ranges. Seemed like the lite wasn’t quite as consistent as the 1500 but we thought it was because the unit hadn’t settled in yet. We’ll try it again this spring.

I have one of each. My 1500 has the reducing insert upgrade from Ebay. Both dispense at about the same speed with Varget.
The Lite has yet to overthrow. 1500 without the reducing insert tends to overthrow kinda frequently. With insert I might get 1 overthrow per 100.

One thing about the Lite is you can't mute the sound like the 1500. The beeps were annoying as fuck and RCBS tech help said there is no mute function. So I opened it up voiding warranty to clip the PCB mounted buzzer.

Lite also has a glass panel for a keypad. Should one of the calibration weights slip out of your fingers and land on it it's donezo. I came close.
