Chargemaster woes

I finally was able to pull enough of my reloading equipment out of storage to load up some .308s for a shoot this saturday. Once I got everything set up and was ready to throw some powder I noticed that the key pad of my Chargemaster is jacked up, when I press 1 it registers 2, 4 gives me 5, and . gives me 0. However the rest of the buttons work correctly, so pushing all the numbers in order results in 2,2,3,5,5,6,8,8,9,0,0

Has anyone else experienced this and is there a do it yourself fix for it? I've had the Chargemaster for about 2 years now and have used it numerous times in the past with no problems.

Everything else works just fine on it, however seeing how my load is 42.6 grains right now I have to punch in 39 grains then trickle up to 42.6, total pain in the ass, taking forever.

Re: Chargemaster woes

LMAO! Yeah, that sucks!! Man, this really cracked me up. Stinks to have this problem with your charge weight.
Have you tried turning it off, and back on? Also, press the "Enter" and "Edit" button at the same time. Then press enter about 15-20 times so it will cycle through the programming, and see if that helps. It will then power back up. Try this, and see if it helps. If not, give RCBS a call (and be on hold for about 30 minutes!).

Re: Chargemaster woes

Thanks for the advice Chad, I tried both a couple of times, got the 4 to work then it went back to being jacked up along with the others, going to give them a call. Hopefully I can get it fixed, its taking me well over twice as long to charge the rounds.

I remember seeing a post about this problem some time ago but couldn't find it again, must have been over 2 years ago.

Re: Chargemaster woes

yeah, just got off the phone with them, said the same thing, I'm going to finish loading up the curent batch and hopefully I'll be able to send it out to get fixed sometime within the next couple of weeks.

Re: Chargemaster woes

Happens.. About half the time I press dispense it acts like I hit load and displays c=_. Since the scale has been accurate against another digital I have I have left it alone.. The minute the scale acts up I'm sending it in.
